(ET) New(er) cells in.
Ok, I pulled out all 30 of the old cells and realized what might have
been the problem.
Last year in a bid to increase range I switched all four packs from 30
cells to 29 cells. This was to see if I got any more performance on
charge by reducing the pack voltage by 1.2 volts. Answer was no, and I
re-wired the rear cells back to 30 cell strings. But I left the front at 29.
I'm not sure if this alone could have done it, but it's the only oddity
but that was a year ago.
Anyway, 30 new cells are in and I took the time to replace one of the
rusted front side panels. Tractor looks better if a bit off color-wise.
Now the charger is pulling 400 watts, 3 hours at that rate should be
30amps into the pack. Once charged I'll let it sit overnight, then
charge it again tomorrow to check and refill the water. The cells I am
using were used in my S10 truck a long time ago and a single string
could source 200a for driving around.
