(ET) E15 - one step forward, two back

Finally got the weather gods and family schedule to align for several minutes this afternoon. Temperature at freezing mark, and swapping wires on the RTN relays is beyond my talents in gloves, so short wires in the dash were not making my day.

Decided to just do the Forward-Reverse relay so the tractor could move into the garage for later attention with artificial lighting and no wind.

Fiddly chore, but tape-labelled each wire as it came off the reed relay. More fiddly, getting the wires to stretch far enough to go onto the Potter and Brumfield enclosed relay. Got the eighth wire on as fingers were becoming less tactile-sensitive. However, test with transmission in neutral said forward and reverse were working as desired and no power glitch. So, moved the tractor into the garage (uphill) under its own power, to discover the one tire was not in a rut so much as not really holding air. Sigh. Not sure there's a source for new rear tires in Canada; it was problematic when I looked last year.

However, I may have another option. 2 parts tractors in a storage unit and AFAIK both have 2 good rear tires. But that's a job for a warmer day and during natural light. Field weakening relay is a lower priority. Household renos are not helping my schedule either.

Snow expected tomorrow night, but probably will not stay.
