Re: (ET) Wheel is here, time to repair

In my case, it's the plate that goes over the discharge end of the mower. There are two options, one is a simple blanking plate that keeps things from being thrown by the blades through stuff like windows, and a chute attachment that diverts the grass and rocks to the side for a side discharge.

They both also serve as a critical part of the deck's stability as they connect the front right of the mower with the wheel to the mower side. Without it the front right wheel will bend under if it hits a rock.

Because of this they can get bent or wrecked over time, so what I did was put some aluminum bar stock across the bottom of the mower discharge hole connecting the front of the deck to the side. Very strong.

And also needed as I will also install a vacuum adapter over that hole to allow me to use the vacuum blower to suck up leaves and anything over the fall.

There are baffles under the deck that do something, but I've found that not having them does not really impact my life much. If I recall there were two different ones that went in based on if you were using the blanking plate or discharge chute.

What are the mower mulching plates?

One thing I have to say about Harold: You need something, he identifies
the right parts and sends them quickly. Just got my box with an entire
front wheel (to replace the blown tire), 2 brake switches (wow they have
strong springs) and a new brake pedal pivot part.

Sure enough it's a very tight fit for the brake part so I need to sand
and burnish the hole to get rid of the rust in there, then I'll grease
the hell out of it and put it in. But that will get my brakes back to
snuff, and with the other repairs it looks like the E15 is a runner.

He didn't have any mower mulching plates, so I went through my shed and
found mine. It's in fine shape, and oddly enough mounts up to just the
top two screws without having to do the side as I have my custom
stiffener bar using the bottom screw holes. Deck is solid as a rock.

Also found my spare charger, of course this is after I repaired my
junker one with the new diodes. I should take a picture of that sometime.

Ready for fall. I'll mulch leaves, then aerate the lawn once it rains,
then switch over to the vacuum to get all the stuff under bushes. Then
it's time to drag out the snowblower and let the winter fun begin!
