   Chris, sorry for replying this way.  I can not see how to reply directly to a post.  If you have a AD42BA snow thrower it sounds like you are missing a part.  The motor fits against a plate bolted to the front of motor mount.  Item #42 in the parts book.  Part #244A7335P42.  This is about 5" X 2" and about 1/8 thick.  It is to hold the motor in the correct position to have the chain tensioner in the center of its travel.  I just replaced the auger bearings on my AD42BA.   The number is AS205-16.  Very common bearing.  Stainless shields on both sides and they come with a new lock collar.    I do need to warn you these are the most difficult bearings I have ever replaced.  I am a retired mechanic and have dealt with bearings my entire working life.  I have all the bearing tools and the knowledge, but these are very hard to do.
