Thread-topic: (ET) Why does our mower mulch better in reverse?

When mowing leaves with the ET I just drive backwards. I do the same on my IC powered three blade deck mower. Just works better for some reason. And it's great yoga workout.

Yes. Fall mowing with tractor moving forward leaves leaves (will never get to say this again) but then I reverse over them and see mulch.

I’m not adventureous enough to try and flip[ the mower position…mayhaps someone has.
