Unless you are doing a complete restoration, I would consider upgrading to an Altrax before a complete rewire. Assuming that it works on a PM motor of course. I upgraded my E-16 a couple years ago and wish that I would have done it log ago.

The Homeowner's Service Manual should cover what you need. Wheel Horse rebadged the Late E12/E14 as the B-145. Should be a permanent magnet motor with 3 throttle speeds and a 4-speed trans.
