These are 135Ah batteries.  Full power for the charger is 15A per
bank.  TrollingMotors.net says "we recommend a battery with at least a
100 amperage hour rating", so you think that's what a Minn-Kota charger
would expect.

It may be that Minn-Kota has some more complex algorithm, such as
waiting for the rate of decrease of the current to fall below some
level.  That would work regardless of the capacity of the batteries.  If
so, when I get new batteries, which I'm planning to do after I make sure
that this new charger does a good job, then the transition will take
place at a higher current, which will make me happy.

I'm becoming nostalgic for the Brusa charger that I bought for my
Solectria Force when I had it.  There you could both the program your
own profile.  Of course Brusa chargers have their own problems, starting
with rather high cost.
