The short end of the tube is on the top, and the long end goes down. Make sure to include the two bolts on either side of the tube, you'll find you need them for many attachments.

I’m building a sleeve hitch and was wondering which way is up? Should the 5/8 pin tube have the short (1/4”) overhang to the top or the bottom.
I think the 1/4 is to the top but want to confirm.
