Hi,
Having some issues with my E16. Once in a while it would make some rapid jumps
between what seemed like speeds 1 & 2. In rare cases the load was heavy
enough to drag down the mower deck as well. And once in a while the motor
would not turn on again, but I could hear the relay clicks like it should go.
Then it lost forward but reverse would still work. Now there is no drive
at all but again the relays all click. So I started checking things and
found that there was 36V across the armature in forward and reverse. The
book says to replace the motor so I started trying some motors out of my
parts tractors.
Motor one worked in reverse but had issues on forward speeds. Took the end
cap off and saw that one of the brushes was cracked and melted the holder.
Motor two ran great in all 3 reverse speeds, but in even the slowest
forward speed the motor started at a dead crawl and continued to keep
speeding up to a runaway condition. (The original motor never runaway) Is
that another motor issue? Or do I have controller issues?
