(ET) Replaced seat on the E-Wrek-Trak 15
Well, yesterday I finally got tired of the pile of stuffing and rust
that was the old seat on my E15. So with a combo of torch, tools, and
chisels, I was able to get the old seat off the battery box top.
Which was in the usual bad shape, but oddly enough not totally hopeless;
under the seat was rusted, but not through completely. So a bit of
welding followed by a coat of POR15 fixed the rust problems.
This morning I put it on the E15, put the seat on, and it's COMFORTABLE!
I'm a much happier owner.
I have the mower deck on the E20, and I still prefer it to the E15; it's
a bit faster and doesn't bog down quite as much. Also a smoother start,
might be due to the 3 speeds with resistors instead of two on the E15.
Next up? Not sure. I might re-wire the lift motor power directly to 36
volts so I can put the deck on the E15 and do something else with the
E20. Or I might continue to use it as my little pony-puller for the
trailer. It's nice not to have to attach/remove that all the time.
