(ET) E15 running, no speed 7 but I can deal....
Well, this evening I finished fixing the wiring on the E15, and it now
runs properly. Turns out that without card 4, speeds 3 and up equal no
field=very fast tractor and super high currents. Now it drives more
normally.
Speed 7 however is just not there. I think I may have to adjust the
speed wheel or something, anyone else ever have this problem? It's not
too big of a deal, just slightly odd.
Now I get to figure out where to go from here. I have what is left of
the charger in the shed, the wood base is 1000% rotted to the core, so
I'm removing the parts and will use what's left as a new template for
new wood. Fortunately I have plenty of birch plywood, the scroll saw and
the plunge router should be able to get the thing cut out and the bolt
holes counter-sunk. Once that's in place I can sit down and put the lift
frame and motor back in, then replace the junker batteries with a single
string of BB600's up front.
Then what? I still need at least the rear battery box, and possibly
fenders, if I can't cut them off the old wreckage. One of the foot
boards is very badly rusted, and of course there is my repair work on
the rear that I would trust for myself but not to sell it to someone else.
I guess I could use it as a donkey-tractor, drive around the yard with
the cart so I can leave the mower on the E20 in the summer and the
blower on it in the winter. Or I could mount the blower to this and keep
the E20 in the shed where it's nice and warm.
Hm.
