(ET) Happiness...

is a new tractor-ful of batteries!

Got me six EastPenns... and moved the old six to the "back porch," the deck on the back of the tractor (which had been occupied by a couple of old frozen/burst dead soldiers from a few years ago. Never know when you're gonna want a "core" or two).

Now, as I have done off and on for a decade, I'm letting the on-board charger charge these two strings in parallel. It occurs to me to ask: Is it ok to charge SLOWER than c/10 or c/8? I keep hearing that these rates shouldn't be exceeded for optimizing service life, but do I diminish the service life of my batts at all to charge them at c/20 or c/16? (I recognize that the limit case is unacceptable... too slow a charge violates the general rule that you shouldn't leave batts in a discharged state any longer than you have to. But how slow is too slow?)

Thanks, alla you ETers,

Between storms,

-Max
