Yikes.

About 5 years ago, I ripped out all that Apollo-era hardware and put in a 
modern PWM controller instead.  That took me from having to tinker with a 
card, reverse relay, or what have you about every third time I used the 
tractor ... to just USING it.  

Since then the only problem I've had has been a flaky reverse switch - and 
that's my own fault for installing a cheap made-in-Taiwan Radio Shack 
toggle 
switch for reverse.

I sympathize with the notion that you can troubleshoot the GE controller 
with an ohmmeter.  However, I don't want to be troubleshooting it all the 
time!  A tool that you have to regularly use other tools on isn't my idea 
of 
a truly useful tool.  ;-)
