Re: (ET) drive shaft shims



I've never done it, but I do have an ET with loose steering.  I have heard it suggested here some time ago that a knock-out from an electrical box is the right size to act as the kind of shim you have in mind.

Hey all:

 

Is is OK to put shims/washers in the steering mechanism to force the steering gears closer together?  With age they seem to be gaping causing stripping in the turning.
