Harold's right on.  I'd wonder about a wobble somewhere.

I've had similar harmonics problems.  I find that it is sensitive to  
blade balance.  New blades and new clutch bodies helped.  Also the  
reinforcing rings helped some on my tall motors.  Finally, the under- 
deck baffle assembly seemed to firm things up a bit.

Good luck - on a quiet machine, that vibration is frustrating (not to  
mention the reliability issue!)
