Re: (ET) TODAY: WH B145 & C185 at auction in Ohio

Jack,

Snow, that's that white stuff that falls out of the sky, right?  Haven't seen much of that for a long time here in South Central Kentucky.  Many years ago I had a chance to plow some with one of the C-185's, but never the B-145.  Wound up parting it out and using the PM drive motor on my first attempt at building an electric lawn vac a few years back.

I'd like to hear/see more on your 20 HP E12.  Sounds like an interesting upgrade.

Assuming that you did not plow snow or till with the B145.  Maybe Gunn was saying that WH used a less powerful drive motor in the B145.  If true, then a motor upgrade might turn it into a real machine. I have an E12 with a 20hp motor, a worthwhile upgrade.

I've had a B-145 and still have two C-185's.  The C-185 is virtually identical to a late model E20.

Not for nothing, years back I saw a B-145 for sale and asked Gunn about it.  He said that it was a less robust version of an E12, no problem with mowing but that it could not perform well with ground-engaging attachments....no tilling, snow-dozing.  Don't recall if this due to a smaller traction motor or transaxle.  There is a parts manual for this tractor on the owners club site.

Sorry for the short notice.  A friend of mine showed me an ad for an auction
to take place TODAY (Wed 15 April) at 5:00pm.

This appears to be an estate auction; they're selling the entire farm and
equipment includes the above tractors.  No indication of condition or
functionality.  They list them as "riding mowers" so presumably they include
mower decks.

IIRC, a B145 is a lighter duty version of the E15, and the C185 is
equivalent to an E20. Someone please correct that if it's wrong.

4120 Hein Avenue SE, East Canton OH 44730

Directions: Take SR44 3 miles south of US30 to Hillchurch Street, then left
2 miles to Hein Avenue, then left to auction.

Terms: Cash, check, visa, MC, with ID.  4% buyer's premium, 4% waived for
cash.

Auction at 5pm TODAY.  I may be there but will not bid as I don't have any
more space (or time) for tractors.
