Re: (ET) Advice on setting up and E20 and front Deck

Hello
Just reporting back on  the problem I was having with the E20 and the Front Deck. Several of you replied and thanks to all of you it was all good advice. Being basically lazy I decided to tackle it from the idea that the tractor was not fully charged. So I used my outboard Soniel  charger and let it sit until the fully charged light came on,  this was more than 24 hours.  I then cut the grass which was actually longer and thinker than the first time I cut it. It managed to do the entire property 1 1/3 acres with what appears to be lots of charge to spare. (I year one old Workaholics). So it would seem that the charger is not up to snuff. I'll look at it some rainy day since I generally don't use the onboard unit and prefer the "Smart Soniel" which can also be used with a good quality extension cord.
So, actually the low battery charge explains a lot of weird behaviours of these C185, all of which seem to have gone away now that we're fully charged. I suspect that I was never getting a full charge, the unit seemed to have a short run time but I was never in a position to run it continuously.  Like I said this was my first experience with actually working an ET for any extended period and I am very impressed. Again thanks for all the help and the tips for "tuning a mower" I will be implementing all of them and filing them for future reference.

Subject: Advice on setting up and E20 and front Deck

Hi
Ok I am finally into my new place and I am now cutting the grass or more correctly my dandelion plantation with a E20, front mower with a side discharge. So, now I moving from theory to reality.

This is the first time I actually mowed with a 48 inch deck. I have a few issue that I need some input on.
The first is that every once and a while the E20 doesn't seem to move to full throttle even when the foot peddle is right to the foot pad.
Secondly, I only seem to be able to cut about 1/2 and acre and the grass wasn't that long.
Third, the cut isn't what I hoped for and the deck was set at 4 inches,  would a rear discharge cut better than a side?

I have to confess, I haven't really done any set up to this rig, I just put one of my decks on a working E20 and when to town. What do I need to do to optimize the cutting, would Gator blades help? I am probably going go to and E15, because I find the foot throttle literally a pain to use and I have the luxury of being able to set this rig up to 100%. while still making do with the E20 rig.
