Re: (ET) Elec-trak Digest, Vol 6, Issue 45 - AC tractor DC implements ?

Just need a monster [$$$$] Buck (DC-DC-Down) Converter to run those attachments ...
Or, an economical source of replacement AC motors for the attachments ... [again: big $ if you are going to replace many motors of many sizes.  Maybe workable if you could make the motors in a couple sizes - and modular:  LARGE = Snowblower / tiller / other large implement.  SMALL = mower, edger, chainsaw, etc ]

BUT, everything I have read still puts FET controllers as cheaper than IGBT for low voltage battery powered devices.

Also, I think buying a few large, high capacity batteries costs less than many low capacity batteries - as many of the AC systems do - with multi-hundred volt battery packs.

    The downside of course would be that none of the existing attachments will work..........unless there will be dual mode controls. {sigh! }

I hope this will be an a/c powered tractor!  Being involved with electric forklifts for nearly 15 years I'm very familiar with them and know the benefits of a/c.  E-mail me if you'd like any info.
