Re: (ET) spring startup stuff

Tires: usually the rim rusted won't hold air. Put a tube in em.

Controller; Usually just the microswitches. What I did with one that
had a wobbly cam: opposite the switches, pop rived on a strip of teflon
to keep the cam from tilting away from the buttons, and put a little
strip of brass shim stock (about .002) as a sleeve round the center pin
at the cam center bearing. 5 yrs and a lot of tough working no jerky
problems or intermmient start. BTW don't lube that plastic cam with
anything. Lube just picks up grit and wears the buttons faster. The
plastic they are made of itself is lubricant enough.
You can usually tell when the buttons are worn flat by the feel of
the controller. If it feels like it needs greasing the buttons are flat.
The roundness helps em up the ramps. When it's gone they got no help.
When they wear a little more, they don't push far down enough to actuate.
With a perfect controller you should not feel the steps of the cam.
Smooooooooth. BIG electronic supply houses have rounded actuator
microswitches.
