Through the thread of this list is much good info on the subjects
mentioned here. Example - lift strap which best (and cheapest)
replacement is a 'large dog' double layer 1" dog strap available at many
dollar stores for bout $8. If the site refers to this discussion board
and how to get on it, most of it's here. We continually build on this
info which with a webside would require travail and heavy labor to
update. Also, this list gives several good answers to many of the points
in question, a website would not do this due to space (and travail /
labor) limitation.
I see this list AND the website as complimentary to each other.
Website has the photos and some info, this board has the rest of it which
would not be convienent to have on a website but is and always will be
an instant answer, a pooling of experience of many individuals, to an
Etrak users or rebuilders questions.

Perhaps wheels from any other tractor that used the
Peerless transaxle would work. Interestingly, the
wheels on my Gravely 430 & 816 (which don't) are an
exact match.

I have 1 rim from an E15 that I had sandblasted, and laid a new coat of primer
and paint on it. I'm in WI. Let me know if you'd be interested.

Walt & Dan,
I'm not sure if the attached link is what you were thinking of, but..... I
think the "thread" you mentioned might have been a site that Marcus Lorch had
going, but now I've lost it too.
In any case, if anybody is looking for some big ass AG tires (26 x 10.00-12)
already mounted on wheels that should bolt right on (at least they have the
right bolt pattern and pilot hole size, but I'm not sure about the backset),
then try this link:
http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?UID=2006111414003084&item=1-2912&catname=wheels
Since the ad doesn't say otherwise, I'd have to assume that they are all mounted
the same direction. That would mean that you'd have to demount one of them and
turn the tire around on that wheel. Since they are listed as 25/26" in diameter
instead of our OEM 23", there might also be a bit of a "clearance" issue under
the fender.
But at $40 apiece, it might be worth looking into. And the yellow color might
be close to GE yellow.

I found a decent set of rims w/ tires on ebay ($100 for a set).
Had to mount them stems in to get closer distance to battery box.
Got them from
http://stores.ebay.com/Rustybores-Tire-Store
or
http://stores.ebay.com/Jeds-Wholesale-Tires
Sorry, I can't remember which one, the OEM rims were 12"x7" with 2.5"
/ 5.50" offset.

I listed ET tires and rims for sale about 6-7 weeks ago. I think ET rims are not
commercially available from the usual sources, when I looked the only 5 lug rims
I found measured 4 1/2" on center between hole 1 and hole 3. For us it needs to
be 4 1/4"

Did someone on the list use plastic tire chains? Where did you get them? How
do they compare with metal chains? I am hoping to reduce the damage to my seal
coating this winter.
Thanks,
