(ET) motor magnets

Something that's been bothering me, when a magnet breaks, aren't the 
broken pieces mating edges of the same polarity so they repel and what 
does that do to the strength when glued back into the motor casing ?

FWIW, I've got a couple Ryobi's that i don't use, one needs batt, other 
probably does., anyone interested ?
