Re: (ET) Electric push mower project



I think the Etek is 15 HP *peak*, not continuos. And although I don't know all the other models listed I suspect some may be using continuos rather than peak ratings so not a fair comparison. For instance, the "10 HP motor" (http://www.3rivers.net/~cmac/m1.htm) is 11" in diameter and 80 pounds in weight. That is a much larger motor (generator) than the Etek!

Too bad they didn't keep things simple and just record the current draw for each type of blade rather than fancy pressure tests. I'm curious what brand the lowest pressure blade is and how much actual difference it made in power required. Oh well.
