Re: (ET) field rev.



20 years ago on my E15 I pulled the finger relays out and replaced them 
with a 24VDC Potter & Rumfeld plug-in socket enclosed relay (with a 
resistor on the coil side to drop 12 VDC) and have not touched them since. 
 Finger relays are junk for sure.  The P&R relay is very robust.

Mmm... Like everything else, relative. While true the field current is 
lower, when you switch it you still will get arcing across the switch 
point. If it's a little relay, it's going to weld shut at some point 
(cf: all the E15's in the world)

They still should have used contactors on the E15.
