Interjecting a thought here.
Have been at garden tractor pulls as a spectator (Swamp Yankee Days in
RI)  and observing that and hearing your problem;  I don't think any tire
that a puller uses would be the best for keeping a 'Scott's lawn'..
   However, GE had an option mostly on the 20's of extra wide 'hi
flotation' tires.  These are still turf saver tread but'

STD GE                                HI FLOT

Front;  4.80-4x8                   6x6.50 -8
rear;     23x8.50-12             23x9.50-12 OR 23x10.50-12 

The hi flot take different rims, deep set so they clear the tractor.  The
widest seem to be on 20's that once did golf courses - which of course
need to be flat without tire ridges and are often mowed on wet days
unsuitable for golf.   A pair (or even all 4)  of these wide tires should
solve solve your problem.  Also - as to tractor pulling more rubber on
the road will certainly help.  

If you live in New England I could swap 4 wide ones for 4 regular size,
rims and all.   Have no need for the wides.
shipping would be prohibitive on em they would have to be picked up by
you here.
