The front mount mower is MUCH better than the mid-mount mower. Plus - the foot rests on the mid-mount are not lower than the rest of the tractor platform. Your feet are so high, your knees hit your chin. Just kidding, but it is very uncomfortable if you are more than 5 feet tall. 
If you have a choice, go with the front mount every time.
