Re: (ET) Battery chargers.
Some of these chargers are much too low in output for charging golf car
batteries. For example, a 50% discharged golf car battery would take at
least 36 hours to charge with that 4.5a Soneil charger. An 80% discharged
battery would take about 3 days on the LS charger.
Some of the road EV crowd tried Guest chargers for modular charging about
8
years ago and had reliability problems. I have no idea what, if anything,
they've changed since then.
If anybody tries the Dual Pro for modular charging, please tell us how it
works out for you. (Amazing, a battery charger still made in the USA.)
The Iota isn't really a battery charger; it's just a regulated power
supply
with no real charge control. These are apparently based on the old Todd
Engineering designs (Todd went out of business I think about 6 years ago).
I've heard good things about Soneil chargers.
E-Z-Go has a pretty good rep, but I know zilch about these particular
chargers.
The Schauer might be an interesting choice for flooded batteries, and the
Interacter LCS for either flooded or VRR; I'd be interested in hearing
from
anyone who tries it.
There's a certain amount of religion involved in pulse chargers and
"desulfators," IMO.
The rest I know nothing about, and I have no idea how this vendor's prices
stack up.

Cutting the space budget really restores my faith in humanity. It
eliminates dreams, goals, and ideals and lets us get straight to the
business of hate, debauchery, and self-annihilation.
