Re: (ET) Big mower deck

Interesting idea. I have an old Woods RM59 mower. It runs on 540 PTO
with one large (about 24 inches) pulley on the PTO running a rather
complicated single belt arrangement to run three blades. I don't see why
a single large motor couldn't replace the PTO shaft with some engineering.
Its heavy though - most of these finish mowers are. They are designed
with Cat I 3-point hitch hook ups where weight is not an issue. One with
wheels like this would work for pull behind though. Mine has skids.

I remember talking to Bill about this once upon a time...with regard to
one motor on the standard ET mower...he dismissed it on weight.

What about reel mowers? Anyone out there pulling (or pushing) a reel gang?

Better: One of these:

And a nice sized DC motor.
