Very good comment from Perry, especially the one about wet grass.  GE
offered a front gang mower, AR56 (two reels front, 1 reel rear) and a rear
three reel mower (expandable to five), AR57.  Both cut 56."
You'll find they won't cut higher than 2 1/4" to 2 1/2."  They don't like
tall grass.
