RE: (ET) lift motor repair

Hi,

I would go and get me a replacement motor from the junk yard.
For the brushes it doesn't matter which side you get.

See my page at: http://markus.lorch.net/et/lift-motor.html

I don't think soldering is a good way to attach a wire in these
motors as it may get pretty hot. I crimped my connection that
I had to make for the ground replacement.

In any case if your motor is fine I would use the old motor
with the brushes from the replacement.

I had to pull my motor myself out of a wrecked car on the junkyard
but got it for free. (the guy thought it was broken as he hooked
up the two field wires to a 12V battery and nothing happened) He
should've hooked up one field wire to the battery and ground the
motor case but neither of us realized at the time. :) On the way
home I went "duh, of course" and could hardly wait to try it
again in my garage :)
