(ET) Battery height

Hi all,

I noticed that the standard golf-cart batteries (my golf
cart store only uses/carries the combo post type with a 
threaded bolt on the top) are about 1/4-1/2" taller than
what I think the battery boxes were built for. 

The batteries are 11 1/2" tall but I think our tractors
can accomodate 11 1/4" at the most, better would be 11".

>From looking at deka's website I recon that the only one
that should fit is the G post style, which has a 
total height of 10 3/4" and have a post with a horizontal
hole for a nut+bolt. These batteries are not carried by
my golf cart store.

What post style do the SAM's club deep cycle batteries
have that have been mentioned on the list a few times? 

What have others done to accomodate slightly taller batteries?
I know of Keith's new battery boxes but I am not quite ready
to make such a big modification and paint at this point
in time.
