I haven't put mine into full service yet, but I have tested it in the battery balance mode with a 12V tap. Solar Converters could likely make a 36V/18V converter to upon request.

I bought a 20A model from solarseller.com aka John Drake Services, Inc.
They have the 20 amp model listed for $171.00, I seem to recall the 50 amp unit being between $250 and $350. Below is the url for converter, part number is EQ-12/36-20 or EQ-12/36-50 for the 50 amp model.
