Fw: (ET) E10 M steering problem, for sale?

Further consideration of past steering problems on my E10M made me recall
another problem which occurred a few times. The shafts for the steering
wheel and the one which actuates the steering are supported by "bushings"
which are bolted to the bottom and hood of the tractor. The housing for the
original bushings, with holes for mounting, seemed to me to be made of too
thin and thus weak metal. Replacements for them obtained from Bill were
more
strongly built.

Running into rocks or other things buried in the weeds and grass with a
front wheel resulted in a few cases where the mounting bolts on the
bushings
tore out of the housings. This caused enough play in a shaft to
intermittently skip teeth in the gears on the steering wheel and actuator
shafts. I am mentioning these problems because no mention was made of them
in the original message about the steering problem.
