RE: (ET) linear actuator power steering?
I think one of the earlier Toyota vehicles has electro-hydraulic steering.
I for get the car's name it was a rear engine job. It was called the "XR1"
or "X1" or something like that. It was a little "T top" two seater. But I
remember when working on OEM designs for electric steering I was surprised
that this vehicle has the technology for years. They are old enough now
that there should be a bunch in the junk yards. You might want to check
that out. Probably ran on 12V but you might be able to get the motor wound
for 36V.
Just a thought.

AM steering?
In real life, the steering rate was not 'limited'; the actuator was 'fast'
compared to human inputs.
In normal power steering, it's the same situation; very few drivers can
turn the wheel faster than
the pump can supply volume. Until you reached that point, it felt like a
variable rate. If you
used a wimply actuator, the actuator rate would make the steering feel
limited.
