I have the impression that XP is generally backward compatible with
programs
written for earlier versions of Windows. So (unless I'm mistaken),
writing
for XP, which presumably has function libraries that 98 doesn't, plays
right
into MS's desire to force users to upgrade. I'm a stubborn cuss; I ain't
a-
gonna.

If Alltrax will release enough information about the communications
protocols
that the controller requires, the users can write software for any
platform we
choose. I'll echo Rod's request - can Alltrax publish this? Or will we
have
to reverse engineer it? (No, I'm not volunteering; I don't have time,
alas.)

The question can arise whether with the development of such tech-
nological means of communication as radio, film, and the daily
press, freedom of thought is possible at all. Does this not mean
constant infection with whatever ideas are in circulation?
