RE: (ET) wheel weights
My ET with loader was equipped with a rear weight box. The prior owner had
placed 3 12volt deep cycle batteries in parallel with the original battery
pack and put the 12 volters in the weight box to counter the loader
leverage. There was a quick disconnect socket at the box, and he used to
charge them with a separate changer. When I got the ET, all the batteries
were shot, and I elected to remove them and just carry concrete blocks in
the box for weight. I'm sure the electrical engineers belonging to this
group will give a collective groan at the thought of hooking up all those
mismatched batteries. At least he charged the two packs separately!
The loader is electric/hydraulic, and does draw a significant current.
However, if shut off when not being raised or lowered, the loader can be
operated for a fairly long time without exhausting the single original
battery pack. Even with the weight box I could use an additional 100 lbs,
so the wheel weights seem like a good option. I think wheel weight might
be
preferable to adding more weight to the box because they would have a lower
center of gravity than the weight box (cenentered around the axle as
opposed
to completely above it), and since tjey are on the wheels, no additional
weight loads are placed on the wheel bearings.

actually, I was joking about putting the batteries inside the wheel,
which would mean you would have to back up to untwist the cables, or use
some kind of electrical contact swivel that I made up in my head.
However, there is a commercially available big size electric tractor
that has an extra battery pack option for range and weight. Someone
clever could work up a rear hitch battery holder or something else that
I am not thinking of just now.

one could inform oneself about this tractor at:
