Hi there,
Feedback about the seat switch and the
brake switch is good to consider. Also, if you're not real
experienced with troubleshooting, maybe these hints will be useful:
Keep in mind your tractor has two separate
electrical systems...the control circuit and the power circuit. The
control circuit energizes and de-energizes the "coils" on your contactors and
relays. The power circuit feeds heavy current to the motor(s), being
controlled by the switched contacts on your contactors and relays.
You could have a problem in either (or both) system(s).
Typically, problems will be either an
undesireable "short" or "open" somewhere in the wiring or components.
With power applied, and using a voltmeter, you will measure zero volts across a
shorted component (wires are supposed to be shorted)...you will also measure
full line voltage (nominal 36VDC) across an open component, an open connection,
or an open wire. With power turned off and disconnected, you can use
an ohmmeter to check for opens, and shorts (continuity), too...you'll see zero
ohms thru a short, and infinite ohms "thru" an open.
A wiring diagram is more than helpful when
troubleshooting. I'm pretty sure you can buy one for your tractor
from Mr. Bill.
Good Luck!
