Hi Michael,
Thanks for your thoughts.  Sorry to hear about the problem you had but glad its resolved. 
You may have it that its the motor brushes. 
How difficult is it to check this?
I guess I can get the motor off easy enough.
Any tips on getting to the brushes?

Thanks guys but its not the belt.
The power use gauge fluctuates in perfect harmony with the bucking of the tractor.
Opened up the behind the dash where the fuses are but found no card(s) on my E12.  Either I'm looking in the wrong place or there are no cards. 
Does anyone have  an E12 service manual and/or any ideas on where to go from here? 
Is it a bad connection somewhere in the field weakening circuit or possibly something else?
Thanks for any specific suggestions I might be able to follow and try out.

Thanks for the response.  I am a novice at this having just gotten the 
E12 in June and have little background experience.
Anyway, went out  and tested it and yes, the load meter bobs up and down

corresponding to the movement of the tractor. 
Was able to look under and see that the drive motor pulley was clear of 
the wiring, so that, at least, eliminates that. 
As to field voltage, I went to the "Home Owner's Service Manual" that 
came with the tractor and tried to find info on field weakening.  Found 
some info for the E12S that shows a card #1 and a FW connection.  But 
when I opened my E12, I couldn't find the card #1. Doesn't look like the

E12 has such a card or its located some place else.
Can you give me any specifics on where to look for a loose connection?
I think the reverse relay should be on the back of the dash panel on the

left side (away from the speed control).  What do I do with this reverse

relay when I find it?

My tractor bucks some.  That is, the ride is herky-jerky.  It seems 
worse in reverse than forward.
Is there some adjustment I can make?
Did I tighten the drive belt too much maybe?
