RE: (ET) finally something smooth enough to mow...
The flap is only on the rear-discharge mower.
The only shut-off is the thermal one located on the top (front mower) or
side (belly mower).
The spin-down should happen in 1.5 sec. from a contactor EXCEPT for the
motor the thermal interlock
has disconnected.
If it isn't mowing well, check the blades, raise the deck and go SLOW.

Subject: (ET) finally something smooth enough to mow...
Early this spring we bought a small house on 4ac with about 3/4 acre of
lawn
just .4 of a mile from our original very hilly and lumpy 5ac piece. This
weekend I took the E12S out for it's first trial mowing on a real lawn. I
have
no idea what deck this is but it is side discharge and doesn't have any
kind of
rear flap. Seems to me it should. shouldn't it?
I thought this lawn was flat smooth, but it's not. I also discovered that
tall
grass is not this setup's forte. I managed to stall(?) one or two motors
more
than once. They didn't feel overly hot though. Is there something
besides a
thermal cut-out? If I waited a minute or so all 3 motors would run again.
but
I noticed when one or two motors quit the other motor(s) took a long time
to
spin down after throwing the switch instead of stopping almost instantly.
Is
this normal under these circumstances or would it indicate something else
is
wrong?
Besides missing a rear flap it seems to be missing the bracket and springs
that
help hold and control the rear of the mower deck. I'll check with Bill
but if
anyone has these parts laying around extra and unused and would like to
sell
them please let me know.
thanks,
