(ET) mower deck questions-simple customizations

Last year I bought a mower from Bill.  While not confirming with Bill, I'm
sure his mower is heavier than the original. My lift motor was straining to
get the front of the mower off the ground.  In a June 16 post Larry Elie
described an alternate way to rig the strap on the lift motor, he calls it 
a
"poor man's" block and tackle.  It works!  The mower now comes all the way
up in 8-9 seconds cutting the previous time by half and, I think, adding
life to the motor.  Larry is a genius.  Thanks
