       Mine has been absorbing 24 Volts for at least five seasons, also. I
believe that secret here is duty cycle. If the motor is allowed to cool
between lifts, the heat is less of an issue. Brush life however, could be
another matter.
      Leaving the motor stalled is a bad thing, for two reasons. One reason
is, of course, the heating. The second reason is, the motor does now
generate enough torque that it WILL shear the attachment clip, that holds
the lift strap to the axle, clean off !
