Re: (ET) Trouble with front lift

I haven't had a problem with mine yet so I don't have experience, however...

Looking at the schematic (E12S anyway), the lift motor has two windings, forward and reverse. So I imagine the problem is one of:

1. Bad winding on the lift motor
2. Bad connection at lift
3. Bad connection at switch
4. Bad switch

I find about 80% of electrical/electronic problems are bad connections, so I'd start with those. They are also the easiest to see and fix.

BTW, while on the subject, I understand that the lift motor is a window motor from GM? Does anyone know what models, years, and which side (if it matters) one would ask for at the junkyard? Since I imagine it's 70's vintage, those cars may be all be gone soon (scrapped), so it may be good to salvage some while we can.

Subject: (ET) Trouble with front lift

My front lift will only go one direction.  Should I suspect the electric lift motor or some switch or wiring relay.  Any suggestions to approaches to the problem are appreciated.

Thanks
