RE: (ET) Shift lever

If you are taking about the transmission shift lever, get the new one from
Bill Gunn and the get ready to drop the rear end. It's not a big deal, I
believe 5 bolts hold it in (then of course the drive belt and brake lever
needs to be removed). Once out, there is just 3 bolts to remove the shift
lever from the rear end. Make sure you get the new one in the same way as
the old one came out (run thru the gears before putting the rear end back
in
the e-15. Sense you're in there, upgrade the brakes and change the pads.
I
wish I would have changed to pads on my e-12m when I replace the shift
lever. 3 weeks later they came loose and fell out. Now I need to do a
brake job. Change the rear lube while you have it out. It's easy to dump
and add new, right thru the shift lever hole.

Well, I just had my first failure on my E-15. The shift lever broke off.
Fortunately, it's still in gear, so I could get it back to its shed. I
assume I order tha part from Bill; What's involved in replacing it?

thanks,
