Does anyone have any good ideas about how to make a simple, compact log
splitter to run on the electrak 36V power outlet? It would be great not
to
have to deal with the cost and messiness of hydraulics. Would it make
sense to
set up a 2-3 HP, 36V motor with a 2 or 3 stage high gear reduction driving
a
large bell crank or heavy duty rack and pinion to push the wedge into the
logs? Might it make sense to start with an old logslitter with a bad
engine or
bad hydraulics? Or would it make more sense just to get a splitter and
switch
the engine to 36V motor and drive the standard hydraulics? Does anyone
have
any experience making one of these?
Thanks,
