Re: (ET) Snow Thrower Manual

Thanks for the help Geof - I'm in northern VA, so runners may not be so
common here, but it will also probably take a long time to wear mine out!

BTW, I replace everything I can with SS when I do repairs. Tho' I was
looking thru McMaster last night and they say titanium is impervious to
sulfuric acid - just what we need! And I thought SS was expensive.

Hi
I can help you with the runners. However, It depends on the surface you on
-- go high for stones low for paved. Basically for the average paved drive
raise the runners so there is about ¼ inch between the bottom of the blower
and the pavement. The trick is to get the bottom of the blower close to the
ground without actually touching and have all the weight on the runners.
The
runners should take all the wear, not the blower. I am not sure where you
are so this may not apply but runners are pretty common in areas where
blowers are common. You can likely find a set that fit. Use Stainless bolts
on the runners or you'll be cutting them off each time you need to change
or
adjust the runners.
Good luck

Subject: (ET) Snow Thrower Manual

Hi all,

Well my snowthrower is slowly coming together (hmm, now where does
that piece go?) and I have some more questions.

1. Anyone have an owner's manual for the snowthrower? I'd like to
know the basic maintenance and operation. If someone could shoot me a copy
I'd appreciate it - I'll pay for copying and mailing. I'd be happy to PDF
the thing for posting at the Elec-Trak.org site, since that would be handy
for others too. I do have the parts diagram which helps in reassembly.

2. If not:

A. I need to find out how the rotating chute is lubricated.
B. Any hints on adjusting the runners (Whatever they are called
under each side) and the motor mount?
C. Any operating hints (I've never used a snowthrower before)

TIA,

SteveS
