When you look at the old original adds for elec traks. It shows the mower
decks with wheels on the back. I would guess the originals did do the
wheels but were replaced with roller to help the deck out on uneven lawns.
The roller will help keep the deck from scalping the high spots where the
wheels wouldn't help as much.

Has anyone replaced the bar with the wooden roller, on the front-mounted
Elec-Trak mowing deck, with two wheels? The wooden rollers transmit a
lot
of vibration (and noise) to the deck. It would seem this vibration and
jolting would be hard on the motors and may increase the likelihood of the
magnets breaking loose. It would seem that rubber wheels mounted at the
two rear corners of the deck would allow for better steering, be quieter
and transmit less vibration to the deck and motors. Is there a reason
that
GE used these rollers in place of wheels?
