Re: (ET) Support arm came apart

You *can* do this with one guy. The trick I found for compressing the strut
was to put the mower deck against a wall, then drive the tractor up to it
and hook everything up. Compress the shock with the tractor, then when it
is
lined up drive the roll pin back in.

For fine control use a wood shim between the deck and the wall.

I would also *strongly* recommend getting a drift/punch sized for the hole
to get the old pin out. A screwdriver is worthless for this; it takes 15
seconds with a punch that is the right size and a small hammer.

Nothing like the right tool for the job.

Chris

You may have to drill out the old one. Compress the assembly, and press
the
roll pin through the access hole. If you have the black plastic
protectors,
you have to remove it first. This is a two person job made easier with one
strong guy.
