RE: Christopher Zach (ET) 36 volt inverter from Tripp-Lite

I price models that were specifically charger/inverters. An extra $20 and
worth the difference.

Be sure to check with the manufacturer first.

Back in the days when Statpower built their chargers in Canada (they are
now
importing them from the Chinese sweatshops), I was considering them for a
road EV, so I asked about this. They told me that the outputs of their
double chargers were not isolated, so they can't be used to charge
batteries
that are connected in series. (A friend of mine who's looked at them
since
they outsourced the production says the build quality has gone way down
anyway.)

Other brands may differ. I believe that the Guest chargers ~can~ do this.

However, several road EV owners tried them a few years back, and found
them
unreliable, so tread cautiously.

I have no information on any other brands than Statpower and Guest.
