RE: (ET) Note on transmission fluid:

Just park the tractor on a steep hill and you should have no problem
filling
it all the way. If the gear selection lever is an entrance for oil, think
what rain water must do.

He told me the same thing - in my case, with the tranny out, it was easy.
However, I believe that you can fill via the gear shift lever entrance when
the tranny is in place, although I've never tried it.

Bill Gunn also told me this about the transmission: It takes 64 ounces of
tranny oil. When you fill it you *must* lift the tail end of the tractor
way
up high; on level ground it will only appear to take 32 ounces of oil.
There
is not a slinger or pump in there, so the top of the gears will not get
oiled. Not like an auto transmission. He also recommended 85/140 weight oil
(which sounds logical since the Elec-Trak doesn't have synchros in there)

Saved me a bunch of future money; hope this tidbit helps others.
