I took to heart those of you who responded last week regarding my
intermediate stoppage of the ET. Since I only see the ET once a week, or
maybe every other week, I'm not able to perform operations. Here's what has
happened: Again, the ET completely shuts down with gauges going blank on all
aspects: lift, Acc, etc. But we noticed that underneath, the motor was very
hot. Someone had mentioned that the breaker on the motor could get hot
enough to make everything quit. I'm beginning to think that's what
happened, because we don't seem to have trouble until after mowing for a
good 1/2 hour or so. That seems awfully quick for a motor to shut down!?
Regarding the switch, I put the wires to the switch on the seat together,
and there wasn't any difference.
Regarding battery terminals, there were some a little loose and some whose
wire going into the clamp were loose and I tightened them all. Still no
difference.
I even opened up the "plate" that the fuses sit on and noticed in front of
the speed control, that a wire was off the circuit board and put it back on.
Question: can I do anything about the hot motor, if that seems to be the
problem?
Also, another problem: we're increasingly getting forward going into
reverse, and even sometimes, reverse to go forward! I think I have some
problem with the speed control itself, though I don't think this is a
related problem.
I really appreciate the info you give me. thanks a lot.
