That sound about right. D2 for light mowing, D1 for most mowing. In
really heavy grass I drop to 'low' Low-low is for tilling.

Since I have so much time to think while mowing, I came up with a question
I'm not sure has been asked in this group.
What speed do you use to mow?
I have an E-15 with the standard front mounted 3 motor deck, and for
"normal" grass lengths I use 3rd gear with the speed controller on direct
(I
believe its called that) - that's the speed at which neither the rersistors
or field weakening circuits are active, at the notch in the scale. If I
left the lawn go too long, I will use 2nd with the controller set to "high"
and pull a sweeper to pick up the clippings, but its almost too slow.
